A winner of the 2012 Ravel Prize, Adolfo debuted with the London Symphony Orchestra performing Elgar’s Cello Concerto, followed by invitations to perform with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Spanish National Orchestra and at the Mendelssohn Festival at Leipzig’s Gewandhaus.

He has since performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Fort Worth Symphony, Colombia National Symphony, at the Chicago’s Ravinia Festival, in Montreal Symphony’s summer season, with Orquesta Nacional de España with Krzysztof Penderecki, Daniel Müller-Schott, and Gautier Capuçon—a collaboration that led to the invitation to perform the premiere of Penderecki’s Cello Concerto No.2 in La Coruña.

In Spain, Adolfo performs regularly with the major orchestras of Bilbao, Oviedo, Málaga, Sevilla, Galicia, Madrid, Valencia, Granada, Barcelona and has appeared at leading venues such as the Concertgebouw, Auditorio Nacional de Música, Cadogan Hall, Palau de la Música, Bulgaria Hall, Colburn School, Salle Bourgie, and the Gewandhaus, and collaborated with distinguished conductors including Charles Dutoit, Edward Gardner, Vladimir Jurowski, Ton Koopman, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, José Ramón Encinar, Roberto Minczuk, Pablo González, Anu Tali, Antoni Ros-Marbà, Pablo González, Guillermo García Calvo, Lucas Macías and Krzysztof Penderecki.

Adolfo has recorded works by Barber, Rachmaninov and Piazzola, the cello suites by J.S. Bach, the complete Beethoven Sonatas with pianist Christopher Park, works by A.Dvorak with the Magdeburg Philharmonic and Kimbo Ishi, and works by Schubert and Schumann with pianist Josu de Solaun. He plays a 1673 Francesco Ruggieri cello generously loaned by anonymous sponsors.
