
Antonio Ortiz is frequently invited to the Granada International Music and Dance Festival, Cordoba’s “Rafael Orozco” Festival, Musical Encounters and Academy in Santander, as well as festivals in Mallorca, Lucan, Gijón and Bucaramanga, and to prestigious halls such as National Auditorium (Madrid), Teatro Real and Palau de la Música (Barcelona), among many others. Besides Spain, he has performed in France, Italy, Belgium, Russia, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Colombia and the USA.
He has performed often with Spain’s leading orchestras, including a notable broadcast recording of Beethoven’s Fifth Piano Concerto with the Spanish Radio Orchestra, and collaborated with conductors such as James Judd, Aldo Ceccato, Bruno Aprea, Fusao Kajima, Darrel Ang, Francisco de Gálvez, Pablo Mielgo, Manuel Hernández-Silva, Roselín Pabón, Salvador Vázquez, José María Moreno and Andrés Salado.
Antonio received his education from great teachers like Dimitri Bashkirov and Claudio Martínez Mehner (Reina Sofía School of Music, Madrid) Marie Françoise Buquet (Paris), Josep María Colom (Madrid) and Jose Felipe Diaz (Malaga).
He has made several recordings for Spanish National Radio and Television and Catalunya Radio, and published a CD containing works by Debussy, Ravel, Albéniz, Bártok and Prokofiev. He received the recognition “Medalla Albéniz” in Camprodon’s Festival, for his recent recording of Isaac Albeniz’s Iberian Suite. Antonio Ortiz is a devoted piano professor, working since 2009 at the Reina Sofía School of Music (Madrid), and since 2019 at the Conservatory of Music of Málaga.
