Born in Malaga, Laura Romero Alba started playing the violin at seven.
After completing her studies at the Conservatory of Music in Malaga and the Galamian International Academy, studying with professors Anna Margrethe Nilsen and Jesús Reina, she moved to the United States, where she is currently completing her postgraduate studies at the University of Indiana with violin professor Grigory Kalinovsky.
She has also received masterclasses from pedagogues such as Pinchas Zukerman and Patinka Kopec. She has performed as a soloist in various European and United States places. In chamber music, she participates in multiple groups, such as the ‘River Quintet’ and ‘Camerata Bitácora’ playing both the violin and the viola. She has been part of orchestras such as Columbus, Indiana Philarmonic, Richmond Symphony Orchestra and Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra.
She has recently performed alongside the Hispanian Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Malaga, and the Young National Orchestra of Spain. Until recently, she served as assistant professor of violin and viola at the Galamian International Academy in Malaga. Currently, she is a founding member of the Astrea quintet.
