
Born in Cienfuegos (Cuba), Lesster Frank Mejías Ercia began his studies at the age of six and trained at the Ignacio Cervantes Conservatory, the National School of Arts in Havana, and later at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, where he graduated with highest honors. He furthered his training at the International Institute of Chamber Music of Madrid (Reina Sofía School of Music). He has played in orchestras such as the Murcia Region Symphony Orchestra, the Spanish National Orchestra, the Spanish Radio and Television Orchestra and Choir, the Barcelona and Catalonia National Symphony Orchestra, the Franz Schubert Filarmonia, and Utopia Orquesta, among others, combining this work with an active chamber-music career.
He is currently a member of the Adda Symphony Orchestra in Alicante. Lesster Frank performs on a 1940 Timofei Podgorny (Krilov) viola.
